Workshops at the Massachusetts Men's Gathering are participant-led spaces designed for connection, discovery, and shared growth. Rather than formal lectures or academic presentations, an MMG workshop is an authentic invitation to explore a topic together—whether through creative expression, open discussion, physical movement, personal reflection, or hands-on skills. Led by attendees who bring their own passions and life experiences to the table, these sessions offer a supportive environment where men can step outside their daily routines, drop their usual defenses, and engage deeply with one another. Whether lighthearted and playful or quiet and contemplative, every workshop centers on human connection, mutual respect, and the simple power of showing up as yourself.
At the Massachusetts Men’s Gathering, our priority is creating a safe, welcoming environment where every man feels he belongs. To uphold our history of inclusivity while protecting our community's health, we updated our COVID-19 guidelines to align with current public health recommendations.
Vaccination & CDC Guidelines: We no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test to attend an MMG weekend. However, we strongly encourage all men to follow CDC guidelines and remain up to date with their vaccinations. We ask each man to evaluate his health needs and make the best decisions for his personal safety.
Respecting Boundaries & On-Site Supplies: Every man is responsible for his comfort level regarding masks and social distancing. We ask that all attendees bring a spirit of respect and support for the choices of the men around them, particularly those who choose to wear a mask or take space to isolate. To support community health, MMG will have masks, hand sanitizer, and a limited supply of rapid test kits available on-site.
Active Illness: While we do not mandate pre-arrival testing, we ask that you help protect the brotherhood. Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, have a fever, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days. If you develop symptoms during the retreat, please promptly notify an organizer, remain isolated to assess your condition, and follow reasonable guidance.
Shared Responsibility: Gathering together carries an inherent risk of illness transmission. By participating, each man accepts responsibility for his own decision to attend and agrees to act in the best interest of safeguarding his physical, mental, and social health, as well as the well-being of the wider MMG community.
