The Massachusetts Men’s Gathering (MMG) #75 isn’t about proving anything or fitting into a mold. It’s about building a real, supportive community of men who value authenticity over performance.

What’s Waiting for You?

Since the fall of 1989, we’ve gathered to foster connection through shared stories, music, and simple fun. Whether you are keen to join a deep discussion, walk in the crisp autumn air to enjoy the fall foliage, or just enjoy a quiet moment by the fire, the weekend is yours to shape. Our weekend features:

  • Workshops: Led by members of the community on a variety of topics.

  • Community: Shared meals, open conversations, and a “come as you are” vibe.

  • Nature: Plenty of time for quiet reflection or outdoor fun at the Barton Center.

MMG Pricing

We keep our registration simple, transparent, and built on mutual support. We previously used a sliding scale based on income. To cover the costs of lodging, communal meals, and many other expenses, we now use a simpler three-tier pricing structure. This ensures that every man who wants to be here can attend, regardless of his financial circumstances. The FAQ included below explains more about the changes to our rates.

When registering, please choose the tier that honestly reflects your current financial situation:

Supported Rate – $195

    • Who it’s for: Younger men, students, or anyone navigating a financial tight spot right now.
    • Why you would choose this rate: Your presence matters more than your wallet. If things are tight, let the community back you this weekend. No paperwork, no proving your need—just select this tier and join us. If this rate is still a financial stretch for you, see the FAQ below for scholarship info.

Standard Rate – $285

    • Who it’s for: Men with stable income and a predictable budget.
    • Why you would choose this rate: Choosing this tier covers your share of the camp’s rental, food, and utilities, helping keep MMG sustainable.

Sustainability Rate – $315

    • Who it’s for: Men who are doing well financially and want to invest in the community.
    • Why you would choose this rate: This rate covers your weekend cost and adds a $30 contribution to the MMG Scholarship and Sustainability fund. By choosing this tier, you have helped fund a Supported ticket and contributed to MMG’s continued sustainability.

A Call for Workshops

We depend on you to help to shape this gathering. If you have a topic or skill you’d like to share with the group, we want to hear it! Download the Workshop Proposal Form.

These are the workshops planned for MMG 75 (this list will grow; check back often!):

  • “Living from the heart”
    • Muncie McLeod is offering an experiential workshop to let men delve deeper into the topic. Employing the mindfulness and “heartfulness” methods he’s trained in, he’ll help men explore heart-centric approaches to their lives.
  • “Elderhood: Harvesting the Hidden Gifts”
    • Max Rivers will offer a workshop that dives into the last part of our lives. Our broader culture offers men very little positive mythology for what happens after the middle years. If a man’s value has been tied primarily to his work and productivity, stopping that work can feel destabilizing. But Elderhood suggests our true value was always larger than our accomplishments. This workshop offers a space to pause, reflect, and harvest what you’ve earned.

New to MMG?

We know walking into a new space can be intimidating. Don’t worry—there’s no corporate jargon or “manosphere” pressure here. Just a group of men looking to connect. Everyone you meet here was once a first-timer.
